Christophe of Grey
Leathersmith/Archer
This is an arm guard I made for a lady who admitted that sometimes her bow string would strike her just above the elbow. This is a forearm guard with an upper section added/attached to provide protection for the upper arm as well as the forearm. If you look closely you can see there is a small flower in the middle of each basket weave stamp. The buttons are deer antler and I make them myself.
One of my every day arm guards. Basket weave stamping. 3 deer antler buttons. Lined with faux sheep skin for extra padding.
This shape is based on the Tudor bracer seen in exemplars this web site. The seated winged Greyhound is my household mark.
This bracer was made to support the Omnibus proposal. The edge has single loop lacing around it.
Another arm guard with the House of Grey seated winged greyhound. The shape is based on the Tudor bracer seen in exemplars. I experimented with edging stamping for fun.
This is a plain bracer I use most of the time at practices. Nothing special, it just works. The shape works for left or right handed shooters.
Archer's arm guard with basket weave stamping.
This is what my tooled arm guard looks like when worn.
Tooled arm guard flat. Note the deer antler buttons.
This is an archer's arm guard with a snake skin insert. This arm guard was made to match the quiver, this site, and was a commission for a friend.
Hip style quiver with snake skin insert. Commission for a friend.
Body brown cow hide. Side pocket faced with black elk. Lacing is single loop lacing.
Body black cow hide. Lace dyed and single loop lace style.
Stumping style hip quiver with pocket. The D ring is for hanging stuff off of. The flap that goes over the belt has snaps so you don't have to loosen your belt to take this off and on. The outside pocket can hold about 4 shafts. This quiver holds up to 12 arrows.
