Christophe of Grey
Leathersmith/Archer
My version of the Italian quiver pictured on the Home page. I wanted a side style quiver to go with my Horse Bow, actually Magyar, so I used this as a model. Here's an on-line link to the original Italian quiver http://www.siue.edu/COSTUMES/PLATE25DX.HTML . (If you select the address then right click you will see the option to go to that web site. Else, copy and paste into your browser.) I actually have a complete copy of the original quiver design but as I really was after a Berber style quiver and they abstain from putting living things in their artwork, I went with the graphic design. The other modification was personal. You can see the original archer was a left hand shooter. I shoot right hand so I had to switch sides the quiver would hang on.
This picture is also displayed in the Project/Archery Related section of this web site. As I am a leather worker and thus never satisfied with what I've made I made a "more appropriate" horse bow quiver that is also displayed on that page near the bottom. The black and burgundy one on the right in that image was actually patterned after a true Mongolian quiver that is a museum and I have a picture of. (Some day I'll get it on this web site.) All the tooling on the Mongolian quiver is the same as the one in the museum except for the triquetta (my mark) I added.
