Making A Knife Sheath

Including Some Fancy Lacing

Step 10

Now it's time to glue in the filler.  This is an extra piece of thick leather, about 8 - 9 oz, that needs to be wide enough for your lacing or stitching holes to pass through without being too close to the sides.  Again, here I've used Barge cement which is leather worker's contact cement.  Even though it is contact cement you do not have to apply to two sides then wait for it to dry.  I just spread it on one piece then clothes pin the pieces together.  You'll see that in the next image.
